The Studio - an exclusive gym for commercial tenants at Royal Bank Plaza - was in need of a logo in advance of their opening. The client wanted the logo to express the fact that it was a gym but also keep the professional look and feel they convey to their office and retail tenants throughout the building. The logo was kept black to appeal to the gym’s sophisticated customers and to be versatile in all its uses - printed and digital marketing materials, email signatures, signage, and gym bags.

#thefrontstepsproject was an initiative taken on by photographers during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in North America when they would photograph subjects at a distance and donate their profits to charitable organizations. JPPS-Bialik, an elementary and high school in Montreal, wanted to offer this to their 2020 graduates and their families. In order to inform their students and advertise to the community that the schools were participating in this initiative, they required lawn signs and social media collateral. The schools wanted the artwork to be unique and appeal to their grade 6 and grade 11 students and also match the branding style / elements of the schools.

Oxford Properties, a property management company, requires site specific work for one of their downtown office building locations. This site needs to be able to advertise their events and amenities, communicate etiquette standards, and provide directional signage while also keeping the Oxford Properties brand in line with their marketing department’s brand standards. It is important to create everything with a consistent look and feel that follow their company wide brand standards in order for customers and potential customers to recognize and remember Oxford and to keep their brand presence consistent and representative as a whole.

JPPS-Bialik, a Jewish elementary and high school in Montreal, required digital and print work for various school projects and communications. While adhering to the preexisting brand standards, the schools required digital & social media collateral, layout design for printed collateral, presentation design, icons, and label design for water bottles.

This not-for-profit organization that focuses on helping the homeless in Toronto, required some marketing collateral for their annual gala, including carnival prize tickets and Ve’ahavta “money.” With strict design guidelines and printing specifications from the director of communications, these pieces needed to follow the organization’s brand standards and utilize the brand elements as well as include visuals and illustrations from the gala’s branding.

Taking into consideration certain elements and text that needed to be included, the client was looking for an email layout and icons that would express the brand and work with the detailed information communicated in the email. Meant to be informative, this information packed email was the first to it’s potential clients and had a call to action to get in touch with the president. The layout needed to flow and make it easy for the reader to digest the information, want to learn more about the company, and get in touch.

The president of the Graduate Students Association (GSA), a student society for masters of social work candidates at the University of Toronto, required 2 posters (1 with the students as the audience and 1 with the staff as the audience) and multiple social media collateral to promote ticket sales for their upcoming grad party. With lots of copy and certain printing restrictions, the colour theme of the event was black and gold was used in each piece. The posters and social media pieces needed to look consistent and go with the theme of the party. Being an association of students for students, the fun natured aspect of the association needed to be reflected in the posters and various social media posts’ design in order to inform students about the party and entice them to purchase tickets.

This type book features text from various memes about being a student. While memes are often about the content and sometimes an accompanying image, this type book focuses on expressing that same message the meme is conveying through typography only. The target market is primarily students. However, anyone who has ever been a student can relate. In order to have some unity, the only colours used for this type book are black and white. Additionally, the only font family used is Helvetica Neue. This was done so that the typographic design and layout could be the focus of attention, and not the changing fonts and colours.

Orbeez, an activities brand from Spin Master, required a still Instagram image for their Valentine’s Day post. This social media piece needed to keep in mind the brand personality - creative, fun, interactive, and wacky - as well as the general theme of Valentine’s Day. The goal of the post was to be engaging for Orbeez Instagram followers and be aesthetically pleasing Online.
